Newcomer's gathering: In a spirit of friendship
You are invited to a special gathering we are calling: "Newcomers
Luncheon" once a month.
You are invited because you are remembered … as someone who signed our guest book, became a member recently, attended an event, or have been seen lately after some time of absence.
We know how important it is to have friends and to feel part of a new experience. We
recognize how challenging it is sometimes to enter (or to re-enter) into a new community, whether it be a congregation or new city. We'd like you to find a place of welcome here in the congregation and we would like to become a community of friends.
We'll serve you a light lunch, introduce you to other people new or relatively new to the congregation (someone told me that they had been here for seven years and still felt "new"!), and engage in some fun activities and conversation with the ministers and other more long time members.
We promise that we won't ask you to be on a committee or to give money or to bore you with a bunch of information or ask you to preach the next Sunday (unless you really want to).
Friends and family members would be welcome to accompany you. And, of course, we always enjoy children and youth at these gatherings. If this gathering seems to serve a need, we'll continue to host it on a regular basis every couple of months. It does take more than one time - to feel at home!
Would you let me know if you would like to attend? Leave a message at the church
office or on my email. our guest book, became a member recently, attended an
event, or have been seen lately after some time of absence.
